I am pleased to welcome you to International American University College of Medicine. This College has been founded to offer a state of the art curriculum in medical education, using the most current technology and teaching methods, based on the U.S. system, and delivered by an expert faculty dedicated to teaching.

Every medical school has unique characteristics, a distinctive personality and goals for the future. The mission of International American University College of Medicine is to provide quality medical education to those candidates who are capable and highly motivated to peruse a medical carrier. As a physician, I recognize the responsibility to prepare the student, intellectually and emotionally, to meet the challenges facing the health care profession in the modern times. The new-physicians face an information explosion while they are challenged to be humane and considerate. Our goal is to produce physicians who are perpetually seeking new information and solutions for their patients.

The faculty of the College of Medicine is drawn from reputable medical institutions in US, Europe and Asia and is dedicated to offer a state of the art medical curriculum that meets all the requirements for entering into U.S. clinical programs, residencies and for obtaining U.S. licensure. We are also aware that many students are keen to practice in developing countries. In this era of globalization, a well-rounded medical education is essential for every physician. The integrated curriculum provides excellent preparation in the basic and clinical sciences both in St. Lucia campus and United States teaching hospitals. The curriculum is designed to prepare the student to pass the U.S. licensure examinations as well as PLAB and other such examinations in other countries.

Overall the entire program of the College of Medicine will prepare you to become a competent and effective physician, utilizing the latest advances in clinical practice. We encourage all physicians to uphold the human values of the profession, including compassion, service and respect for life.

The Affiliation with Texas A&M University has made it possible for US students to complete the prerequisites for medical education in two years. It has also given the aspiring students from outside United States to achieve the same excellence in medical education afforded to the US students and to obtain an MD degree in six years. This will also allow the students to familiarize with American culture and incorporate the positive aspects of the US student life into their life.

As the Chief Academic Officer, I would like to assure every one that the education the medical student receives here is comparable to that of U.S. medical schools, and will provide a credible Doctor of Medicine degree that will make you eligible to practice in most of the states in the US. I would strive to maintain the highest moral and ethical standards in our students through constant supervision and assistance.
